The new Nationality Platform:

☑️Agiliza the processing of nationality files

☑️Valida documents automatically using Artificial Intelligence

☑️Assegura direct communication with other entities

☑️Garante process security and transparency

The new platform for processing nationality processes which will dematerialize the entire process, making it possible to streamline 23,000 processes in the registration phase, through automatic integration with the Civil Registry, and guaranteeing security and transparency. Steps such as the scanning and classification of files, as well as the automatic integration with the civil registry system to issue the respective birth registration will no longer require the intervention of an official and communications with external entities that are consulted in the attribution of nationality - for example, the PJ, DGAJ, AIMA - will be more automated. It is estimated that this will save 20,000 hours of work, the equivalent of 86 people freed up for other tasks with greater added value.

This is a new phase in the evolution of the processing of nationality applications, after it became possible to submit applications online in February 2023 and in November, in November, it became compulsory for proxies to submit applications online. (which corresponds to 90% of incoming cases). In the last 10 months, a further 16,000 applications have been submitted online, helping to increase the efficiency of the services and reducing the pressure on customer service and the bureaucratic and logistical burden associated with receiving paper documentation.

From the beginning of this year, the new nationality platform will allow the stages of the process to be monitored online in real time, increasing transparency and trust in the process and making the nationality process more efficient.

This is a project funded by the PRR, within the scope of the citizen's life cycle, and has an initial allocation of 1.4 million euros. So far, the Registry services have invested around 1 million euros in recovering cases in the area of nationality, through extra work, massive digitization of cases and new equipment, with full recovery of backlogs expected by the 4th quarter of this year.
